About HelioVector

HelioVector exists because project owners deserve independent technical-commercial representation. We operate as the owner-side layer between vendors, contractors, controls integrators, and project reality.

Why HelioVector Exists

Too many energy and infrastructure projects suffer from misaligned incentives. Vendors optimize for sales, contractors optimize for margin, and owners are left navigating technical, commercial, and OT complexity without independent representation.

HelioVector was founded to address this gap. We provide owner-side technical-commercial discipline that protects project outcomes rather than vendor relationships. Our role is to ensure owners spec right, buy right, commission right, and execute without value leakage.

This is not about replacing EPCs, controls integrators, or equipment suppliers. It is about ensuring owners have the technical judgment and commercial control necessary to hold all parties accountable to project objectives.

Operating Principles

  • Independence first. We are not compensated to push equipment or protect vendor relationships.
  • Technical rigor. Every recommendation is grounded in engineering fundamentals, controls realism, and quantitative analysis.
  • Commercial awareness. Technical decisions are evaluated against lifecycle cost, execution risk, and project economics.
  • Operational resilience. OT and commissioning decisions are judged by how they protect uptime, safety, evidence, and owner control.

Founder

Ray Zhang

Founder & Principal

Ray founded HelioVector to bring together field engineering experience, procurement control discipline, OT systems thinking, and a quantitative decision-making framework developed through both academic training and hands-on project execution.

His background spans technical systems design, EMS/SCADA product development, microgrid and BESS architecture, data center OT planning, operations research, and owner-side commercial management across international renewable energy projects.

This combination of field realism, analytical depth, controls awareness, and commercial pragmatism informs HelioVector's approach to protecting owner outcomes throughout the project lifecycle.
